Kindergarten gets a thumbs up from new students
St Anthony’s Primary, Girraween welcomed over 50 new families to the school community with an evening celebration on Friday 21 February.
New Kindergarten students showcased their talents, performing a new song for staff and families. The event was a great opportunity for parents to share a meal and meet teachers and other families at St Anthony’s.
Principal Attila Lendvai, who has joined the school community this year, said the annual tradition is important in building a strong school community and an invaluable opportunity for new parents to get to know teachers.
‘The evening was a great success and we’re looking forward to continuing to work with and involve parents on many occasions throughout the year,’ said Attila.

It was a meaningful night of reflection and solidarity with those doing it tough this winter. ⚽ Stage 2 Soccer Gala Day ⚽ Yesterday our Year 3 and Year 4 students proudly represented St Anthony’s at the Stage 2 Boys and Girls Soccer Gala Day. ♟️ Chess Champions! 🏆 Yesterday, 15 students represented St Anthony's at our second local heat chess competition. Our students played 7 rounds and were very successful! 🥳 🏅 Our school came 1st overall! 🎉 We had some excellent individual results as well: 🥇 Alan (Year 5) 🥈 Dharshan (Year 3) 🥉 Jayden (Year 6) 4️⃣ Aaran (Year 5) 7️⃣ Jasmine (Year 6) 🏅 Yeshe (Year 1) – 1st place under 8 years old! 👏 Congratulations to all students for their incredible efforts and sportsmanship! 🎓 We’re excited to have 10 students representing St Anthony’s in the Semi Finals in Term 3! ♟️🌟
