This morning, our St Anthony’s Catholic community gathered in a liturgy to celebrate the Feast of our patron saint, St Anthony. Guided by his enduring words — “Let your words teach and your actions speak” — we reflected on how his legacy continues to inspire compassion, service, and unity in our world. We took a moment to acknowledge the many St Anthony’s schools and parishes across the globe, each one reaching out to their own communities in unique and meaningful ways. ♟️ Chess Champions! 🏆 Yesterday, 15 students represented St Anthony's at our second local heat chess competition. Our students played 7 rounds and were very successful! 🥳 🏅 Our school came 1st overall! 🎉 We had some excellent individual results as well: 🥇 Alan (Year 5) 🥈 Dharshan (Year 3) 🥉 Jayden (Year 6) 4️⃣ Aaran (Year 5) 7️⃣ Jasmine (Year 6) 🏅 Yeshe (Year 1) – 1st place under 8 years old! 👏 Congratulations to all students for their incredible efforts and sportsmanship! 🎓 We’re excited to have 10 students representing St Anthony’s in the Semi Finals in Term 3! ♟️🌟

🎉 Year 5 Excursion Fun! 🎥🍿 Year 5 had a fantastic time yesterday at the Powerhouse Museum! Students were curious, engaged, and full of questions as they explored the exhibits. They wrapped up the day with a well-deserved reward—popcorn and a movie! 🍿👏 What a memorable day of learning and fun! 📚✨

May our struggles and our concern for this planet never take away the joy of our hope.” Laudato Si’ 244 Today, we celebrate the 10th anniversary of the encyclical Laudato Si', the text with which Pope Francis called humanity to care for the common home, interweaving ecology, social justice and spirituality. The theme for 2025 is "Raising Hope" which links with the 2025 Jubilee Year theme, "Pilgrims of Hope". We pray to Mary, Help of Christians, Patroness of Australia, to give strength to those being impacted by the floods.

📚✨ St Anthony’s Joins Millions for National Simultaneous Storytime 2025! ✨📚 Today, our students at St Anthony’s proudly joined over one million children across Australia and the globe in reading The Truck Cat by Deborah Frenkel and illustrated by Danny Snell. This heartwarming story of Tinka the cat and Yacoub the truck driver celebrates themes of belonging, kindness, and finding home in unexpected places.  This year marks the 25th anniversary of National Simultaneous Storytime, an initiative by the Australian Library and Information Association (@ALIANational), bringing together more than 9,000 locations worldwide—including schools, libraries, and homes—to promote literacy and the joy of shared reading.  We’re thrilled to be part of this incredible movement that connects communities through storytelling. 🌟 Peer Support Day Success! 🌟 Today we held our very first Peer Support Day, and what an incredible experience it was! Our amazing Year 6 students truly shone as leaders, showing outstanding collaboration, inclusiveness, and care 💬🤝 It was heartwarming to see all students actively involved, connecting with one another and building a strong sense of community across year levels. We’re so proud of the way our students stepped up to support each other. 💙👏 Here’s to growing together and creating a culture of kindness and leadership! ✨

🧣🧦🧢 Sock, Scarf, Beanie Day – This Friday! 🧢🧦🧣 Friday 16th May 2025 Let’s keep heads, hands, and hearts warm this winter! ❄️💙 Students are invited to wear a pair of socks, scarf, or beanie with their school uniform this Friday. PLUS, if you can, please donate a new adult pair of socks, scarf, or beanie to support those doing it tough this winter. All donations will go to St Vincent de Paul to help those most in need. Let’s come together to share warmth and kindness! 🙌
