Welcome back everyone to this new school year.
I hope that the recent Christmas break was one where you were really able to spend some quality time with your children and loved ones. The children returned to school to find 410 helium balloons launching our Term 1 theme: LIFT YOUR LEARNING!
Many children sat in the 'balloon-chair' and imagined their way into another world. Our term theme focus also served as a goal setting time for children as well as a creative writing stimulus. Make sure that you check your child's grade blog for more photos.

Western Sydney Catholic Schools hold the phone
Student mobile phone use will be banned across 80 Western Sydney Catholic schools from the beginning of the 2026 school year. The restriction presents a positive opportunity to enhance student outcomes, both in academic excellence and wellbeing.

Today our school leaders, along with Mrs Reilly, proudly represented our school community at the Parramatta RSL Sub-Branch Remembrance Day Service. They laid a wreath on behalf of all of us to honour and pay their respects to the brave men and women who have served and sacrificed for our country. 🌺 Lest we forget.

💥 Year 4 Excursion to Lizard Log! 🧲 As part of our Science unit on “Forces”, our Year 4 students had an exciting day of hands-on learning at Lizard Log, Western Sydney Parklands! Students were captivated by fun science presentations, watched their classmates dress up in real safety gear, and took part in interactive experiments to explore the power of forces in action. 🌏 Year 3 Excursion to Watsons Bay! 🌊 As part of our Science unit on “The Earth”, our Year 3 students enjoyed an exciting and hands-on day exploring the beautiful landscapes of Watsons Bay. Students investigated the types and causes of erosion, discovered how human activities can affect our natural environments, and discussed ways we can care for and protect our landforms. It was a fantastic day of learning, discovery, and appreciation for the world around us! 🌿✨

Nagle College Launches New STEM Scholarship for Future Innovators
Nagle College Blacktown has announced the launch of the “Christine Howe STEM Academic Scholarship”, a new opportunity designed to support and inspire young women passionate about STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics). Students enrolling in Year 7 from 2026 are eligible to apply for the scholarship, which reflects the College’s ongoing commitment to excellence in learning within a supportive Catholic community.

🏏 Mark Taylor Shield – Round 2 🏏 Last week, some of our Stage 2 and Stage 3 boys represented St Anthony’s in the second round of the Mark Taylor Shield against Holy Cross Glenwood. Although the team didn’t come away with a win, the boys displayed fantastic sportsmanship, teamwork and determination throughout the day. 👏💪 Well done boys — we’re so proud of your effort and spirit!
