Welcome back everyone to this new school year.
I hope that the recent Christmas break was one where you were really able to spend some quality time with your children and loved ones. The children returned to school to find 410 helium balloons launching our Term 1 theme: LIFT YOUR LEARNING!
Many children sat in the 'balloon-chair' and imagined their way into another world. Our term theme focus also served as a goal setting time for children as well as a creative writing stimulus. Make sure that you check your child's grade blog for more photos.

Today 3 representatives from our Faith in Action team attended Seven Hills RSL ahead of next week's Remembrance Day Ceremony to donate over 40 hand knit poppies. As members of the Faith in Action team, 16 students from Years 3-6 donated their lunch time each Monday to knit with members of our Parish. They have learned that Jesus calls to uplift in love not just for ourselves, but for others in our wider community. Congratulations St Anthony's on reaching out to our wider community and many thanks to St Anthony's of Padua Knitting 🧶 Group for your generous and patient knitting support. 💚🤍

✨ Shining a Light on Our Teachers – World Teachers’ Day ✨ Our teachers are brilliant, and today was all about celebrating them and recognising the incredible work they do every day! We rolled out the red carpet (literally!) and shone a light on each of our amazing teachers, sharing the reasons why we appreciate and love them. A small moment to make sure they know just how valued they are. ❤️ A huge thank you to the SCG and Trish from our canteen for the delicious morning tea and helping make the celebration so special. To our incredible teachers, thank you for all that you do. Today, the spotlight was well and truly yours! 🌟

Loving God, Be close to all those caught in the devastation of the floods in Nepal and Tibet. Comfort those who have lost loved ones, strengthen those waiting anxiously for news, and guide rescuers and emergency workers as they search for survivors. Give courage to displaced families and compassion to communities offering shelter, food and care. May those who are missing be found, and may those who mourn know they are not alone. God of mercy, hear our prayer. Amen.

📚🎶 Book Week 2026 – Symphony of Stories! 🎶📚 Our students had a wonderful time bringing their favourite book characters to life at our Book Parade! 📖✨ As part of our whole-school focus on building vocabulary, students were also asked to bring along a Tier 2 or Tier 3 word that described their character. It was fantastic to see so many creative characters and rich vocabulary on display! 🌟 Thank you to our wonderful students and families for helping make our Book Parade such a special celebration of reading! ❤️📚 #BookWeek2026 #SymphonyOfStories #BookParade #BuildingVocabulary

Six Habits That Help Children Develop a Love of Reading
Book Week is a celebration of stories, imagination and creativity, but helping children love reading isn't just something that happens during one week of the year. The good news? It doesn't take expensive resources or hours of extra time. Often, it's the small, everyday habits that make the biggest difference.
