Welcome back everyone to this new school year.
I hope that the recent Christmas break was one where you were really able to spend some quality time with your children and loved ones. The children returned to school to find 410 helium balloons launching our Term 1 theme: LIFT YOUR LEARNING!
Many children sat in the 'balloon-chair' and imagined their way into another world. Our term theme focus also served as a goal setting time for children as well as a creative writing stimulus. Make sure that you check your child's grade blog for more photos.

π St Anthonyβs Shines at NSW Chess Semi-Finals! βοΈ Last Thursday, a team of 10 represented St Anthony's at the semi final of the NSW Chess Championships. We played against some very difficult competition and needed to use all of our strategy and skill. We came 3rd overall which means our top five players have qualified for the finals. Dharshan also received a medal for an outstanding individual performance. Well done team! We are very proud of your achievements. ππ

π Today the school and vice captains went to St Patrickβs Cathedral βͺ for the 2025 Education Mass, joining all the other primary and secondary representatives π©βππ¨βπ from schools in the Parramatta Diocese. The Mass π celebrated all the achievements in the diocese π, and even Bishop Vincent led the celebration! βοΈ What we enjoyed the most β€οΈ was learning how other schools put their faith into action ββ¨ and follow in Godβs footsteps π£. Students participated in a prayer service π led by Faith in Action students and Fr Joby. Catholics believe that Mary was taken up into heaven by God β¨, not just her soul, but her whole body too, because she was so pure and full of grace π. We learnt how Mary is a model of: πΈ M β Mary is the Mother of Jesus πΆ β and also our spiritual Mother. π A β Act with Mercy. Mary was kind and gentle to everyone π€. πΏ R β Rosary. When we pray the Rosary, we think about the special moments in Jesusβ life βοΈ and remember Maryβs love β€οΈ. π Y β Mary said βYes!β to God π.

βοΈ St Anthonyβs girls participated in the NSW Girls Teams Chess Challenge! βοΈπ§β¨ The girls competed in teams of three against other school teams.π They had lots of fun ππ and learnt new skills and chess moves. π§ π‘ There were two divisions: Rookies (K-4) π£ and Primary (5-6). π π Congratulations to the Year 2 team who came π₯ in the rookie division! π Well done to all the girls who attended ππ.
