Lift Your Learning

04 Feb 2016

St Anthony's Primary Girraween

Welcome back everyone to this new school year.

I hope that the recent Christmas break was one where you were really able to spend some quality time with your children and loved ones. The children returned to school to find 410 helium balloons launching our Term 1 theme: LIFT YOUR LEARNING!

Many children sat in the 'balloon-chair' and imagined their way into another world. Our term theme focus also served as a goal setting time for children as well as a creative writing stimulus. Make sure that you check your child's grade blog for more photos.

🌟 Peer Support Day Success! 🌟 Today we held our very first Peer Support Day, and what an incredible experience it was! Our amazing Year 6 students truly shone as leaders, showing outstanding collaboration, inclusiveness, and care πŸ’¬πŸ€ It was heartwarming to see all students actively involved, connecting with one another and building a strong sense of community across year levels. We’re so proud of the way our students stepped up to support each other. πŸ’™πŸ‘ Here’s to growing together and creating a culture of kindness and leadership! ✨

A big thank you to some of our Faith in Action Team (FIAT) who used what they have learned about symbols on Sacred spaces to set up a prayerful space for the Year 6 leadership day. Year 6 appreciated your creativity and thought and helped them reflect on how we can do God's work as a leader. Well done team!

Anzac Day also looks to the future. If we grieve loss and give thanks for self-sacrifice on Anzac Day, we should also commit ourselves to a future in which we turn from wars, share burdens, give priority to the most disadvantaged, and shape a more just society.
