Principal's Message

Welcome to St Anthony's Primary, Girraween.  I am excited about working with our community and look forward to developing many closer relationships as we learn together.

Education is a three-way partnership of parents, children and staff and I am keen to further the wonderful work that has happened at St Anthony’s.

St Anthony’s is a great Catholic school and I would hope that you would want to be part of our community because it is an environment where children and their families are able to experience the love of Jesus. I hope that you will find your own experiences with our school consistent with the inclusiveness, love and mercy of the universal Church. Our school is but one arm of the parish of St Anthony of Padua, where we seek to work closely with our Parish Priest, Fr Joby Kadambattu. Being a part of the parish is an important aspect of being a part of the school community.

Your children’s happiness and safety is paramount. Success and happiness go hand in hand and it is very difficult to achieve one without the other. We expect each child to work to their potential, to strive towards their personal best. We want St Anthony’s to always be a place that children want to come to – a place that is motivating, fun, inspiring and safe, where all children experience belonging and connectedness.

St Anthony’s is about creating life-long learners who are well equipped to be problem solvers. Learning should be about inquiry, creation, collaboration and fun. Using the tools and technologies of today’s world should enhance what we do and allow our children to more fully engage with the world they live in. Learning is best when it has context and meaning. When done in teams, it allows for greater cognition, depth and application.

I look forward to meeting and working together with you in partnership as part of the St Anthony’s School community.
